Classification of steel structure fireproof coating

2024-03-28

1、Classified according to the object of fire protection:

(1) Ordinary steel structure fireproof coating: fireproof material used on the surface of steel structure of ordinary industrial and civil buildings; (2) Special steel structure fireproof coating: fireproof material used on the surface of steel structure of special buildings (such as petrochemical facilities, substation and distribution stations, etc.).

(2) Special steel structure fireproof coating: fireproof coating for steel structure surface of special buildings (structures) (e.g. petrochemical facilities, substations, etc.).

2、Classified according to the place of use:

(1) Indoor steel structure fireproof coating: fireproof coating on the surface of steel structure used for indoor or hidden works of buildings.

(2) Outdoor steel structure fireproof coating used for the steel structure surface of outdoor or open-air projects of buildings.

Note: Characteristic code of the place of use: N stands for indoor, W stands for outdoor.

3、Classification according to dispersion medium

(1) Water-based steel structure fireproof coating: steel structure fireproof coating with water as dispersing medium.

(2) Solvent-based steel structure fireproof coating: steel structure fireproof coating with organic solvent as dispersing medium.

Note: Characteristic code of dispersing medium: S stands for water-based, R stands for solvent-based.

4、Classified according to fireproofing mechanism

(1) Intumescent steel structure fireproof coating: the coating expands and foams at high temperature to form a fire-resistant and heat-insulating protective layer of steel structure fireproof coating; (2) non-intumescent steel structure fireproof coating.

(2) Non-intumescent steel structure fireproof coating: the coating does not expand and foam at high temperature, but becomes a fire-resistant and heat-insulating protective layer of steel structure fireproof coating.

Note: Fireproofing Mechanism Characteristics Code: P for intumescent, F for non-intumescent.

Fire resistance grading.

The fire resistance grading of steel structure fireproof coating is divided into 6 levels according to fire resistance limit: 0.50 h, 1.00 h, 1.50 h, 2.00 h, 2.50 h and 3.00 h. The fire resistance of steel structure fireproof coating is graded according to fire resistance limit.
